Parto alle 9:30 di casa e passo a prendere Francesco, Arezu, Mattia e Simone, che lavorano tutti in Toyota. Direzione: Città del Lussemburgo.
Arriviamo verso mezzogiorno e mezza, troviamo parcheggio e facciamo una passeggiata per il centro. Prima tappa: Place Guillaume II, in cui stanno facendo dei lavori che non ci permettono di ammirarne la bellezza.
La fame si fa sentire, cerchiamo un ristorante di sushi nei paraggi e vi ci fiondiamo. Si chiama Sushi Lovers: facciamo un menu all you can eat a 25 euro più bibite, e ovviamente ci riempiamo fino al limite.
Dopo mangiato, ci dirigiamo verso la fortezza di "Casemates", che tuttavia non è ancora aperta alle visite (aperta da marzo ad ottobre, dalle 10 alle 17).

Da lì facciamo poi il "Chemin de la Corniche", una camminata in cima ad un dirupo che offre una vista molto pittoresca sul fiume Alzette, che serpeggia tra le case dai tetti scuri e le strade innevate.
Il freddo si fa sentire, e che c'è di meglio di un tè caldo per farselo passare? Torniamo in Place des Arms, una delle piazze più belle e popolate della città, passando per le vie strette e le boutique della capitale finanziaria europea. Ci fermiamo in un bar a scaldarci un po', poi riprendiamo il nostro tour della città.
Ci addentriamo nelle stradine, passeggiamo un'altra oretta, poi recuperiamo la macchina e ci dirigiamo verso Bruxelles.
Saranno il freddo e il cielo cenere, ma la città non ci sembra niente di speciale. C'è ben poco da vedere, e a parte qualche scorcio molto caratteristico, né l'architettura, né la ricchezza storica e culturale sono particolarmente impressionanti.

We arrived around 12:30, found a parking spot and had a promenade around old town. First stop: Place Guillaume II, where some work in progress didn't allow us to admire all its beauty.
Hunger started to leave its effect: we looked for a sushi restaurant around and we dashed there. It's called Sushi Lovers: we ordered an "All you can eat" menu for 25 euros plus drinks, and obviously we filled up to the limit.
After eating, we headed for the fortress of "Casemates", which however is not open to visits yet (open from March to October, from 10 am to 5 pm).
From there, we did then the "Chemin de la Corniche", a walk on a clifftop that offers a really picturesque view on the Alzette river, which twists among dark roots houses and snow-clad streets.

Cold was there, and what better than a hot tea to get through it? We went back to Place des Arms, one of the nicest and most crowded squares of the town, passing by the narrow streets and boutiques of the European financial Capital hub. We stopped in a café to warm up, then we got back to our city tour.
We walked around the little streets, strolled for another hour, then got the car back and headed for Brussels.
Maybe it was the cold and the ash gray sky, but we had not been astonished by the city. There was not much to see, and apart from a few really characteristic glimpses, nor the architecture, nor the historical and cultural richness were particularly impressive.

I arrived at home around 9 pm, and despite we had already made plans to go out at night, none of us had the energy to do it. Saturday of tv series, who could imagine that a road trip to Luxembourg tire that much?
