"Ed eccomi qui, a scrivere il primo post di questo blog, senza però avere idee, senza sapere da dove cominciare! Iniziamo col presentarmi: mi chiamo Anna, ho 18 anni e non so cosa fare della mia vita. Sì, proprio così, non so cosa voglio fare del mio futuro! Quando qualcuno mi chiede "come e dove ti vedi tra 20 anni?" io non so rispondere, nella mia testa c'è solo un grande vuoto, a dir poco spaventoso!
Era il 14 dicembre 2012 e scrivevo il primo post del mio blog. Sono passati quasi 4 anni, da quel primo post e credo (o almeno spero) di essere cambiata molto.
Un sacco di cose sono successe da quel lontano 14 dicembre: mi sono diplomata (e con un bel 97 aggiungerei), sono partita per l'America dove ho realizzato il mio sogno, ho fatto la ragazza alla pari per un anno ad Arlington (Virginia), ho trovato una seconda famiglia e degli amici stupendi, che non solo mi hanno accompagnato durante la mia esperienza, ma che spero saranno presenti anche nel mio futuro. Dopo un anno in America, sono tornata a casa per 5 giorni e poi sono ripartita per un'altra avventura: studiare IBA (International Business Administration) in Olanda, più specificatamente all'università di Twente ad Enschede.
Qui potrete trovare tutta la mia esperienza, dai primi passi per diventare au pair, alla mia vita in America, dal ritorno in Italia al trasferimento in Olanda.
Spero di poter aiutare chiunque abbia dei sogni come i miei, chiunque voglia viaggiare e scoprire il mondo.

Let's start with introducing myself: my name is Anna, I'm 18 years old and I don't know what to do with my life. Yes, that's right...I have no clue on what to do with my future. When someone asks "where and how do you see yourself in 20 years?" I don't know what to answer, in my head there is a big, scary, blank space.
A nice day of September, I get to know about the existence of the au pair program. My dream has always been to go to the United States, getting to know the American culture and their traditions. And what better way to do it than living with an American family for a year? And here my adventure begins that will hopefully bring me to take that damn flight with direction New York!"
It was the 14th December 2012 and I was writing my first blog post. It's been almost 4 years since that first post and I think (or at least hope) I've changed a lot.
A lot of things happened since that 14th of December: I've graduated from high school (97/100 in my final exams), I've left Italy to go to America where my dream came true, I've been an au pair for a year in Arlington (Virginia), I've found a second family and awesome friends, that not only have been there during my experience, but I hope that will be there for my future as well. After a year in America, I've come home for 5 days and then I've left again for another adventure: studying International Business Administration in the Netherlands, at the University of Twente in Enschede.
Here you can find my experience, from the first steps to become an au pair, to my life in America, from returning in Italy to moving to Holland.
I hope to help whoever has the same dreams as mine, whoever wants to travel and discover the world.
